Artisan Partnership & Impact
We currently partner with 22 artisans and ateliers across Madagascar, providing training, product development support, and international market access. Some key success stories include:
Maimona
An independent artisan who has worked closely with us since the beginning, receiving training in product development and design. One of her designs became a best-seller during the holiday season, leading to her first international order. She is now transitioning from an independent artisan to a designer; an opportunity for her to train other independent artisans on production of her designs while she focuses on designing.
CTS
A cooperative of artisans with disabilities that was on the verge of closing. Through our B2B network, we were able to secure them an order that will sustain their operations for another year.
Association Fanantenana
Originally a group of women selling seashell bracelets on the beach of Fort Dauphin, we helped them formalize as an association, improving their product selection and enabling them to increase their sales to both locals and tourists. We continue to train them to meet international quality standards, improve their product selection to meet market needs, and adapt to a changing market as tourism is seeing an increasing dip in their region.
Mahampy
In partnership with SEED Madagascar, we provided a product training session to 71 women in Sainte Luce, helping them improve their craftsmanship to meet international standards and create products that meet market demand. We remain in contact with them to support their ongoing development.
